The Friends of Delray mission is incorporated in our motto:
Accountable Government, Sensible Growth and Civic Pride.
What does this mean?
Accountable Government reflects informed citizens that hold city officials to the values of transparency, responsiveness, financial prudence, accessibility, inclusiveness and ethics.
Sensible Growth seeks to balance the competing interests of creating a dynamic city without runaway development that ruins the quality of life. More broadly, sensible growth reflects a vision of what we want our city to be as it matures.
Civic Pride is the financial and informational support we provide for special organizations and events that make our city special.
